Board of Directors
At the helm of the organization’s governance structure is the Board of Directors, which plays a central role in shaping strategic direction, providing oversight, and ensuring accountability. The Board is tasked with setting institutional policies, guiding fundraising efforts, engaging in advocacy, overseeing financial management, and representing stakeholder interests. It is also responsible for appointing the Executive Committee and Chairperson. The Board convenes on a quarterly basis to deliberate on key organizational matters and provide strategic input.
The organization is governed by a six-member board, largely made up of founding individuals who bring a wealth of experience and commitment to HERO’s vision and values. Both board members and general members contribute on a voluntary basis, upholding a shared commitment to integrity, transparency, and service.
HERO operates under a clearly articulated governance framework, defined by its by-laws and constitution. These foundational documents outline the responsibilities and expectations of all members, serving as a flexible framework that may be updated as the organization evolves. Additionally, HERO has developed a robust suite of institutional policies and operational procedures to guide program delivery, compliance, human resources, finance, and organizational development.
